Fishing Black Fly Creek

Larry Martin and I took advantage of the hospitality of Joe Richey to fish a local creek.  This is a beautiful and quiet place. The weather was great and we had some nice small fish once we hiked up far enough (you need to be patient and not start fishing until you see the fish).   The small rainbows are very spooky so you need to wade quietly and not too close. The fish are easily spotted in the clear water.  Make a gentle cast - or try a downstream slack-line presentation.

Larry hooked 5-6  on a dark bead head PT nymph, I was three for four on a #18 Lime Trude dry.

If you fish this section, be sure to take lots of bug repellant!
